Your Role

As our Lead QA Engineer, you are the guardian of quality across our entire platform. You don't just find bugs — you build the strategy, the processes, and the culture to prevent them. Blending deep technical expertise with a platform-wide vision, you will be the go-to quality leader for our product and engineering teams. You set the direction, make the key decisions, and ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and user experience.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and human leadership — someone who can mentor engineers, influence stakeholders, and architect a QA function that scales with Alteia's ambitions.

Your Key Missions

💡 Define the QA Strategy: Design and drive the quality vision for the entire platform. Determine the optimal balance between manual and automated testing using a risk-based approach. Own the QA roadmap and align it with product and engineering priorities.

🤖 Architect Test Automation: Build, scale, and evolve our automation framework (UI, API, performance). Make key architectural decisions to ensure long-term efficiency, maintainability, and scalability across teams.

🔎 Lead Investigations: Drive deep-dive root cause analyses on complex or critical issues. Be the last line of defence before a release goes out, and the first one called when something goes wrong in production.

✅ Champion a Quality Culture: Be the quality conscience of the engineering organisation. Embed quality practices into the development lifecycle — from story refinement and 3-Amigos sessions to CI/CD gates and release sign-offs.

🙌 Mentor & Grow the Team: Support the growth of QA Engineers through coaching, code reviews, and sharing best practices. Contribute to hiring decisions and onboarding of new QA talent.

📊 Measure & Improve: Define and track quality KPIs that matter. Use data to drive continuous improvement, communicate risks clearly to stakeholders, and make the invisible visible.

Your Profile

🎓 Education: Engineering degree or equivalent (Master's level).

💼 Experience: 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, including a proven track record in a lead or senior-level role on a SaaS or enterprise software product.

🛠️ Technical Expertise: Mastery of one or more modern automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium) and API testing tools (Postman, REST). Proficiency in JavaScript or Python is essential. Strong command of CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and their integration with test automation.

🧠 Strategic QA Mindset: You think in systems, not just test cases. You anticipate risk, design for testability, and build processes that outlast your presence on a project.

👥 Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to influence without authority, mentor engineers of varying levels, and communicate quality risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluent English is a must.

📊 Data Awareness: Experience testing in a Data or AI-intensive environment is a strong plus. Ability to validate complex data flows, pipelines, and non-deterministic behaviours is highly valued at Alteia.
